Gratitude and Thanksgiving: 6 Reasons to Be Thankful Every Day!

6 Ways to Show Your Gratitude This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving may not be a traditional holiday in Finland, but its essence of showing appreciation, giving to the less fortunate, cherishing family bonds, and savoring every moment resonates universally.

It's often regarded as the largest family gathering in the United States, even surpassing Christmas! That's quite something!

I was eager to embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving, so I've pondered simple yet meaningful ways to express gratitude, applicable whether or not you formally celebrate the holiday.

Here are six ideas to consider:

  1. Begin with Small Gestures: Perform a thoughtful act for your loved ones, like clearing the table after Thanksgiving dinner.

  2. Spread Compliments: Acknowledge and praise the talents and strengths of those around you.

  3. Value Time and Patience: Slow down and show patience, recognizing the importance of others' time.

  4. Personal Touch: Write a heartfelt, handwritten note to someone needing encouragement or upliftment.

  5. Nature's Inspiration: Brighten someone's day with flowers or craft a wreath for your neighbor, inspired by foraging in nature.

  6. Cherish Presence: Commit to making everyday moments extraordinary and memorable.

👉🏻 And don't forget self-gratitude. Reflect on life's blessings and maintain a gratitude journal.

Thanksgiving Appetizer: A Finnish Twist

For our pre-Thanksgiving evening, I've prepared a simple yet delightful appetizer, blending Finnish flair with traditional flavors: Italian olives, decorative black salt flakes, rosemary, green peppers, crackers, blue cheese, and honey, paired perfectly with non-alcohol sparkling wine.

Basically, I will be eating blue cheese with crackers and on top of that drops of honey. And some non-alcohol sparkling wine. Really simple and really tasty if you happen to love blue cheese and honey.

I leave you with the same sentiment as last year, reflecting on gratitude, simplicity, and the warmth of family.

HAVE A COZY THANKSGIVING WITH FULL OF LOVE AND LAUGHTER! HOLD YOUR LOVED ONES EXTRA CLOSE AND ENJOY YOUR TIME.
